Tip About Unlawful Images Leads to Capture of “hands-on” Molester
In June 2010, the Arizona ICAC received a NCMEC Cybertip from AOL with information involving the possession of unlawful images by an unknown person in Rimrock, Arizona. The tip was sent to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO). YCSO investigators served a search warrant at a Rimrock residence and discovered unlawful contraband images. Detectives interviewed 29 year old David Antonio Rodriguez who made admissions to the offenses. Detectives also learned that Rodriguez had molested child victims, aged 5 to 14 years. The previously unreported molestations occurred over a period of nine years. Rodriguez was booked on charges including seven counts of sexual contact with a minor, one count engaging in three or more acts of child molestation, and 17 counts of commercial sexual exploitation of a minor. Yavapai County Attorney"s Office is prosecuting the case.
The ICAC program is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 2,000 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies engage in proactive investigations, forensic investigations, and criminal prosecutions. Task Force efforts are supported in part by grants from the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's ICAC Program.
